here's some new and exciting things going on for the band this fall. Before I get into that, I'd like to thank all of you who came out to Coffee Boba in Fullerton to see our acoustic gig. We had a lot of fun playing our songs outside in the nice quiet setting of the coffee shop, and look forward to doing it again. However, on the near horizon we have a few gigs lined up that should prove to be very good for the band and our PR. We landed three show dates at The Block in Orange, CA. The Block is a great place to play and we'll have over three hours to showcase our music. Not only that, but it is a great venue for people of all ages for it is located in the middle of a huge outdoor mall and eatery with an AMC right behind where we will be playing. So you can check out a movie BEFORE or AFTER our gig :) Our first show is on the 29th of Nov. So check out Show Dates for more info. Also, the demo is finished and we will be selling that, along with Official west rd T-Shirts at the shows. Lastly, if you haven't noticed, the web site is getting its long deserved facial, so peruse the rest of the site at your leisure. Until we meet again... Love, Peace and CHicken Grease -- SB

Tons and Tons of Good News!!! Over the past month, west rd has added two new members to its family. First, we'd like to welcome Mrs. Shannon Berg to our new home, literally! On June 7th, Sonje and Shannon were wed in a wonderful ceremony at Holy Family Cathedral in Orange, CA. The wedding was beutiful, with an added touch coming from the butterfly release at the end. The reception followed at the Radisson in Newport Beach, and was equally as exciting. One highlight was a surprise first dance song written by Sonje with an acoustic version played live by Martin. The song will be publically debuted at one of our up-coming gigs. That takes me to the next bit of good news. As many of you know, west rd has been without a steady bass player for a couple years now. The long drought has finally come to an end. Please welcome our second newest member, Luiggi. Luiggi will be laying down the phat bass lines for the band now, and hopefully forever. Not only is he a kick-ass bass player, but an all around awesome guy, very down to earth, and very personable. He has jumped right into the band without missing a beat and has quickly learned all of west rd's tunes. So look forward to his debut in the coming month as well. Other than that, life has been good for the band, we are currently finishing our demo cd which will be available soon and in time for our gigging cycle this summer. Look out for our show dates and we'll see you at a venue near you! -- the band

We are kicking off our summer show dates at none other than Joxer Daly's. Most of you who have seen us in the past know of Joxer's, if not, there is a map and the times and such are under "Show Dates." We have some new material to showcase as well as all the old favorites. Hope to see you there!!! --SB

One year, three bass players and a handful of gigs! We're still here! It's been a roller coaster year for the band, full of interesting first steps and frustration. While we have a lot of material and are making headway in the creation of some great tunes, it has been an uphill battle in completing the band with a solid, consistent bass player. We're still searching for that third member, but until then we're making inroads and preparing gigs in anticipation of that finding. As for Martin and I, the year has been a good one. If any of you have seen such great flicks as National Lampoon's Van Wilder, Bubble Boy, The Fast and the Furious, or Frailty, and you actually watched the credits, you would have seen our lead singer's name in the credits. Yes he's famous, so throw flowers at his feet and all you pretty ladies give him...kisses or something :) As for me, I got engaged last summer and am getting married in a couple months. I'm really excited about that. So ladies, you CAN'T give me kisses and stuff. :) I also bought a house last year and Martin and I are currently living there. We have our own studio on site, which is awesome, and there are plans to build a better studio when I build another house on the front part of the property this year. Anyway, drop us a line when you read this and stay in touch for our summer show dates. -- SB

Thanks to all who came out Saturday night at Joxer Daly's Irish Pub. I have to say it was a fun night with all the birthdays, drunken people, and drama that goes with a standard night out at the bar. As some of you may have noticed, we debuted two new original songs, along with a few new cover tunes. Like always, we encourage fan input, so E-mail the band and let us know what you thought of the gig. In other news, we'd like to say farewell to Allison Powell (bass), who played bass with us for the past 8 months or so. She's moving back to her roots as a guitar player and singer and we wish her the best of luck. That leaves the band in the market for a bass player, which we are actively pursuing, and hope to fill that void soon. Until then, we are planning to record a few demo cds in our newly built studio and line up gigs for this summer. -- the band
