The Journey’s Song

An average boy in an average town
my safety net was the best around
not a day passed by that she wouldn't
bring me anything I'd need
Still, a sadness lingered and
I decided it was time to find out why
It wasn't long before the day came
when I had to choose my way

So I left it all behind
with just this song to pass the time
why don't we all sing,
"Hey, na na. Hey, na na."

Soon the journey took it's toll
I had no shelter, just a tiny hole
food was scarce, barely a drink and
all I had was time to think
And in my contemplation, I realized that
at last, I was free
So I continued down this road,
knowing somewhere I would find my home

We all know it's true
sometimes life can be so cruel
why don't we all sing,
"Hey, na na. Hey, na na."

So I found, that for me,
life will always be a neverending reason
to sing.
